Disappointment With God

Disappointment With God

Do you ever get angry with God? What do you do in those moments?

Part of having a relationship with God is the reality that God does not always do what we want, when we want. God is God after all, and that sometimes creates a conflict between our desires and God’s will.

This isn’t necessarily bad in itself; in fact, it’s a universal part of being human. Of the 150 Psalms in the Bible, most of them express some form of complaint to God. However, our complaints to God are not because of a lack of faith in God. Rather, they point to our belief that God can–and should–do something about life’s challenges.

If you feel disappointed with God from time to time, you’re in good company. Go ahead and tell God what you’re feeling. Recognize those feelings as true expressions of faith!
