Are You Living in the Present?

Are You Living in the Present?

In the weeks preceding Thanksgiving, many Christian homes begin preparing for the holidays to receive guests and visiting family members. Thanksgiving usually marks the race to Christmas which includes many parties, decadent food, buying gifts, and busy weekends. Even for me, I have skipped ahead to Advent and Christmas. I put on a Christmas music station as I prepared worship slides advertising December’s events. I saw a house fully decorated for Christmas while other homes have up semi-inflated jack-o-lanterns and rotting pumpkins on their porches. As a society, we tend to either live in the past or jump to the future, but not enjoy right where or in this case, when, we are. May we take the time give our wholehearted thanks to God for all that He has done for us, past, future, and in our present.

In Christ,
Pastor Elyse
