Living Consecrated to God

Living Consecrated to God

He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight.  Ephesians 1:4 (AMP)

Doing everything as unto the Lord with all of your heart is one mark of a consecrated life.  It is one way we can say, “God, I belong to You.”  Consecration brings blessing.  It is an honor to give your life to the Lord.

The apostle Paul wrote, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]?  You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own].  So then, honor and glorify God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

We have been bought with a price – the blood of Jesus Christ.  God purchased us for Himself.  We no longer belong to ourselves; we belong to God, and our daily goal should be to follow and serve Him in all things.

Saying yes to God often requires us to say no to ourselves, but as we do, our joy and peace are multiplied.

Whatever you do today, do it for the Lord because you love Him and want to please Him.
