Rest, God Will Bless You!
For all those who enter God’s rest also rest from their own work, just as God did. Therefore, let us strive to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by imitating the example of our ancestors’ disobedience. Hebrews 4:9-11 (The Inclusive Bible)
To take a break from regular work, is to live a counter-cultural Christian lifestyle. Beyond Labor Day weekend, we should remember that God created us for more than what we earn, produce, or how we work. There will always be more work to be done tomorrow, but instead, receive God’s good gift of the sabbath. Rest; remembering that God too rested. In a world full of overwork and absent real rest that restores, reclaim a break from your labors. God will bless you for it!
