Freedom from Sin

Have you ever wondered: What would happen if Adam and Eve never ate from the forbidden fruit in the garden? I can’t say for certain, but my guess is that they would very soon find another way to commit sin.

Part of our human nature is that we often feel a gravitational pull to do the wrong thing. Like Adam and Eve, we live every day with an internal tension: God’s hope and intent is not for us to commit sin, but we sometimes experience strong temptation in that direction.

For this reason, God’s plan all along has been to provide a means for the redemption of humanity. We have a knack for getting ourselves into messes, and we are all in need of spiritual rescue. Today’s temptations are opportunities to see that power of Christ at work in us!
