God’ Children

‘See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!’
1 John 3:1a (NIV)

“See” what an attention grabbing way to start off scripture! It is our clue that something important is about to come. Get ready!  What if we saw Jesus’ birth with an even greater sense of wonder? What if we considered not only the mysterious beauty of the Savior coming into the world in this most unusual way but also the great news that God delivered us through Christ’s birth– that he loves us so much that He sent His son into our sin-filled world so we could be reconciled to Him forever? All this that makes us God’s children! Far from our perhaps strained personal relationships with our families, our children, God is our faithful Father who loves us completely. May your Christmas be merry and filled with the hope, joy, peace, and love of Christ!
